Honey is a great home remedy!
GRASONVILLE, MD – Wednesday morning – Honey is so much more than just sweet! Did you know how awesome honey is for your wellness? Honey is a sweet fluid produced by honey bees and derived from the nectar of flowers. Honey is a mixture of sugars and other compounds – mainly fructose (about 38% and glucose about 31 %.) We use honey mostly in cooking and baking and sweetening but honey has been used medicinally for at least 2,700 years. Honey is antiseptic and antibacterial. Honey treats a variety of ailments – honey is a healing agent for the skin, for wound healing, inhibits growth of fungi and bacteria, for digestion, is calming, dissolves mucus, is high in potassium, soothes raw tissues, helps retain calcium in the body, helps balance acid accumulations in the body, is sedative, is nourishing with Vitamins B12, B6, iron, manganese, and amino acids.
Honey water is used for conjunctivitis; you can gargle with honey for a sore throat, honey and lemon juice is great for coughs, is useful in some arthritic conditions and good for your skin. You can smear honey on ringworm or athlete’s foot 2-3 times a day.
Honey and Vinegar Tonic (I know, I know I shared this a few weeks ago when I talked about vinegar but I’m sharing it again because it is SO GOOD FOR YOU!)
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
A bit of water.
This recipe is to be taken daily for as long as you want. The honey and the vinegar are great for so many different ailments but this is really useful for problems with arthritis, acid/alkaline balance in your body and for memory problems. Try this for 6-8 weeks and see if you don’t see a big difference – be consistent and take it every day for better results.
