Still in Maryland!!!
GRASONVILLE, MD – Thursday night – Well, I’ve been visiting my sisters, Candace and Tiffany, here in Maryland for the last two weeks. The first week was completely filled with creating magical items to sell and display for the first annual Inspired at Home Fairie Festival which was held on June 6th. I made magic wands and flying fairies, woodland fairie houses and decorated tulle fairie wings. We created vignettes that were so magical–I’m quite sure there were real fairies hiding in the bushes! Here’s one of the vignettes with a tiny fairie cottage sitting atop a cement mushroom flanked by one of the garden ferns. It was perfect. Our ‘visiting’ fairies had lots of fun, most even came dressed in fairie fancies and created their own magical wands, headpieces, wings and magical steeds (ponies). There was fun for all!
Fast forward… Sunday was clean up day… putting all of the fairie goodies and supplies away. Whew!! Big job!
Fast forward… Monday, for some reason we can’t seem to remember, we decided it was a perfect day to make some changes to my sisters’ store. We decided to move the entire collection of mosaic tiles. Here’s a before picture of the front window display at the studio.
We started with painting walls and shelving….. then moving supplies around.
We all agree….it looks wonderful. Yep! Those are the new lavender shelves before we lined them with the mosaic tile containers. We love lavender! Now the studio front window is so bright and cheery. We moved our gift items to another wall in the store and I’m sure my sisters will be sharing photos of the whole store again when they get everything finished!
Of course, we are all exhausted and a little ‘crazy’. Here’s Candace actually trying to make me laugh in my exhaustion. Yeah. It worked!
We have had so much fun, lots of laughter and tons of giggles. (Oh and several very big thunder and lightning storms too!!!)
I leave for California on Tuesday. I will miss my sisters… but lots of creative ideas to take with me — lots of work to do…. and then share with everyone at Inspired at Home. Sending Lots of Creative Love! >>Heidi
