Style Stone Bracelet Class
GRASONVILLE, MD – Thursday night – I had loads of fun teaching tonight’s Style Stone Bracelet Class at the Wye River Designs Studio. Heidi and Candace even participated hands-on even though they already know how to make these bracelet beauties!
It’s so fun to see how the students are so apprehensive at first and before long, they are tap, tap, tapping the stamps.
I always start out class by letting them practice on a Style Stone shape. This way, they can get a feel for how the Ancient Page Inks work and the importance of heat setting each step. And, the great thing is that the practice stones are always beautiful! The shape we stamp for practice is a tag shape so these practice pieces can be used for scrapbooking, embellishing, mosaicing or collaging.
The hardest part is deciding “what color do I want to make my bracelet?” Before class, I stamp out some white paper with all of the ink color choices to create a color reference chart. That way, the students can look at the actual stamp colors on paper rather than trying to guess the colors from the stamp pad. You can see one page of the color chart in the mid-section of the table. Within 2 hours, everyone had made their reversible bracelets (yes! that means stamping different designs on both sides), selected their stringing beads and had strung their pieces on bracelet stretch cord. These bracelets can also be made on jewelry wire with a nice toggle closure.
Another fun and creative class and lots of oohs and aahs watching everyone’s creative process.
We hope to see you at our next Inspired at Home class!
